Setting Intentions for the New Year
This is my second year in a row choosing to set intentions instead of resolutions for the year ahead. I’ve found that placing pressure on ourselves to make big, sweeping changes can feel intimidating and often leads to abandoning those goals altogether. Instead, using the New Year as a moment of reflection allows us to gently assess the year behind us and intentionally shape the one ahead.
After all, who doesn’t want life to feel a little better each year? Growth and evolution require conscious, thoughtful change—but that doesn’t mean everything needs to shift at once. Small, intentional adjustments can be just as powerful.
If you’re feeling stuck or unsure about what intention to set, try asking yourself where you’d like to see yourself in the future and choose one intention that supports that vision. For example, if you’d like to spend less time on your phone, an intention to read more might feel supportive. If calming your nervous system is a priority, you might set an intention to incorporate breathwork into your mornings. These seemingly small shifts often create a domino effect—when we start feeling better, we naturally begin making choices that further support our well-being.
Wherever you find yourself on New Year’s Day, I hope you take a moment to look back and acknowledge all that you did accomplish in 2025. While the idea of a New Year as a “clean slate” doesn’t always resonate with me, I do believe this time offers a meaningful opportunity to reflect, reset, and move forward with intention—step by step—creating a life that feels more aligned and inspiring.
Happy New Year. May this be a year of meaningful change, nourishing health, and continued wellness.
